Absolutely incredible experience! The guides were phenomenal—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly had a deep bond with each horse, knowing their personalities like close friends. Despite the recent rain and muddy trails, the horses handled everything with ease and grace. The ride itself was peaceful and scenic. We even spotted deer along the way, which made it feel magical. If you're looking for a relaxing, memorable horseback adventure with caring, attentive guides, this place is a gem. Can't wait to come back!
I had a horse-loving family member visiting from out of state, and this trail ride was a wonderful and relaxing experience for us both! A great way to enjoy the Alabama spring woodlands with kind guides and friendly horses. Appreciated the provided helmets and the photographs taken at the end! And the saddles were out of this world comfortable! Highly recommend this experience—it’s worth a trip to Oak Mountain State Park! (The non riding family members enjoyed visiting the lake and the playground during our ride.)

Planning a fun day at Oak mountain state park starts with a horseback ride at Rusted Roof barn. The owners are great and make my husband and I feel welcome. The horses are amazing and calm. The ride itself is wonderful and being out in the woods on a horse is very calming. This group of riders were very diverse so that made it for me who just moved to the US even more fun. My very heavy Caribbean accent was no problem for the owners and that was a great plus! My husband and I def. going back soon because I am a horse lover. I think about taking lessons at Rusted Roof, so good was my experience!
